  •    Badge FAQ

      I need help with this new registration system!
      We published a helpful registration walkthrough at this link. If you still have questions, please email registration@gama.org.

      Will my 2020 badge purchase carry over into this year?
      If you had a badge for Origins 2020 the amount you spent for that badge has been credited back to your account. During the registration process this year you will be able to apply the funds on your account to the badges and items you purchase this year. If you have specific questions, you can email registration@gama.org.

      Can I use my username and password from last year?
      Yes! Your account credentials from previous years will carry over. If you do not have an account you will need to create a new one to register your badge for Origins 2021.

      Why are you asking for my birthday?
      Since there are age restrictions on each badge type, we collect the birthdate of every participant. The first badge you are registering must be for a participant who will be 16 years or older during the show, Sept 30-Oct 3. Child Passes are only granted to participants who will be 12 and younger during the show, and 13-15 Badges are only granted to participants who will be within that age range during the show.

      When will ribbons be available?
      Since ribbons are tied to events, they’ll be added at a later date (TBA).

      Do educators get discounts?
      Yes! Origins wishes to thank the hard work our educators, librarians, and school game club organizers do throughout the year. Please complete the form at this link to request a coupon code for 30% off of your individual Badge. Note: We will not be issuing reimbursements for badges purchased before receiving the code.

      Do military members get discounts?
      Yes! Origins wishes to join in honoring those who served in the military. If you are, or were, a member of the armed forces, please complete the form at this link to request a coupon code for 30% off of your individual Badge. Note: We will not be issuing reimbursements for badges purchased before receiving the code.

      Do game clubs get discounts?
      Yes! We offer a 30% discount on Full Show Badges to approved game club members. Please complete this form to request a coupon code. Note: We will not be issuing reimbursements for badges purchased before receiving the code.

      Is there no longer a Family Day Pass?
      That is correct. Instead, we have raised the age limit for the Child Pass from 9 years to 12 years of age. To purchase a Child Pass, you must first have a badge in your cart for a 16+ years participant.

      How do I buy a Child Pass or a 13-15 Badge?
      To buy a Child Pass, you must first have a badge in your cart for a 16+ years participant. To buy a 13-15 Badge, the same applies, but the badge must be for the same day(s).


  •    Registration Overview

      Pre-Registration
      Pre-registration for badges, ribbons, and event tickets is available online before the show.
      Pre-registered attendees will receive an email with check-in instructions. This email includes a barcode that can be presented at any pre-registration counter. Simply scan the barcode at the pre-registration kiosk and collect it after printing.

      On-Site Registration
      For 2021, there will be no On-site registration possible. Register your badge online right now!

      Adding Ribbons, Event Tickets, & Generic Tickets
      You may add ribbons and event tickets online once events open. Generic tickets will be available at the Generic Ticket machines found throughout the Main Concourse and Hyatt.


  •    Cancellation / Refund Policy

      - Attendees that cancel pre-registered badges for Origins Game Fair 2021 have the choice of requesting a refund or rolling their badge funds over to 2022.

      - Refund requests must be submitted by September 9 and rollover requests must be submitted by September 27. Funds rolled over can be used to purchase badges or events at the 2022 show. All requests must be sent via email to registration@gama.org.

      - Refunds will be credited to the original card used for purchase. If that card has expired, a check will be issued within thirty (30) days of refund request.

      - Refund requests made after August 9 are subject to a $10 administrative fee per account refunded. There are no administrative fees for rollover requests to Origins Game Fair 2022.

      - Cancellation requests between September 10 and September 27 will automatically roll-over to 2022. No cancellation requests after September 27 will be accepted.
